Crossing Continents:

Australia-India Film Collaboration Takes Center Stage

...

Recently, Australia and India strengthened their cinematic collaboration by signing a co-production agreement, facilitating joint projects and access to government funding.
Arts Minister Tony Burke hailed India as a "global film powerhouse," highlighting the exciting opportunities for both Australian and Indian filmmakers.
Australia has become a filmmaker's paradise, attracting attention worldwide for its stunning landscapes, top-notch infrastructure, and enticing financial incentives. From big-budget blockbusters to indie darlings, Australia offers something for every filmmaker.
Australia's film-friendly policies and financial incentives make it even more attractive for filmmakers. Major Hollywood franchises like "Thor: Ragnarok" and "Mad Max: Fury Road" have taken advantage of Australia's offerings. Additionally, Bollywood has a long-standing relationship with Australia, with films like "Chak De! India" and "Salaam Namaste" being shot there.
Anupam Sharma, chair of the Australia India Film Council (AIFC), and Pritesh Raninga, CEO of Forum Films, welcomed the agreement's activation, foreseeing increased collaboration and commercially viable co-productions between the two countries.
